🔸Collage of the day! From my tumblr collage challenge. I’ll take a group of 5-10 images and only use them as the source for the collage materials. For imagery reference you can check out my tumblr here:
I am taking part in my first ever Instagram challenge and it is for the #justacard week. @justacard is a campaign to help celebrate and promote independent shops, designers, makers and artists. The theme for Monday is 'You'... So here I am, hello. I'm Louise, I live in the Kent countryside and my (almost) daily walks through the countryside and gardens of Kent & East Sussex inspire and inform my work as an artist. Something about the shapes of plants just speaks straight to my heart.
I studied textile design at Farnham & drawing at Camberwell but went to teacher training immediately after leaving Camberwell (for practical reasons £). I craved making work of my own but I was too busy & lost in teaching art to others to focus clearly, until the opportunity of maternity leave. I started making what has led to my current work at the kitchen table in the evenings when my son was 6 months old and it has sustained me through a return to part time teaching, some pretty unpleasant life events & quite a lot of stress. I recently left teaching after ten years, to concentrate on my work more fully. Things are a lot more relaxed these days and now I sell originals and run workshops for children and adults. I also make my work into beautiful cards, which I sell in several shops... but more about that later in the week.

Last weekend, I delivered my latest beauty downtown Trois-Rivières. She’s now dressing the wall of the new Amelie Kegle CPA office! ✨💛📊 | MIRAGE 36x48 (sold!)
-Send Me On My Way-
I made this for my Dad for Father’s Day. The images have various connections to his / my life:
I had pet box turtles growing up. My father’s father (my grandfather) was in the Navy (those are U.S. Navy planes). My Dad lived in Hawaii on the island of Oahu for a year.
Cuts: planes from @thegorgemagazine, palm trees from Hawai’i calendar (Mahalo @jkalawaia), hawksbill sea turtle from @natgeo.
Side Note: @sethlherman is a huge Rusted Root fan

“Warfare: The Helmet of Salvation” Collage on Paper (2018) 9 x 12 in. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and life to the full” – John 10:10.
If the author of this passage makes such a sweeping statement in one breath, does He suggest an enemy in the crosshairs? If scripture speaks the language of battle, does that not imply war? In my upcoming series “Warfare”, meet the bellicose creator of such verbiage. - Bellicose you say? You better believe it. #vernavalencia#collage#collageart#collageartist#TheGodofTheAngelArmiesisMyName#ransomedheartministries#art#artist
Venus ♀entered Leo ♌︎ on June 13, 2018.
“Come on, just admit it. You know you love having all eyes on you and being adored. Even the most shy and humble of us all can't deny that being desired by everyone in the room is an amazing feeling. However, for as exhilarating being the center of attention may be, you also don't want to come across as arrogant or vain, either. There's a fine line separating bashful acceptance of everyone's affection and a greedy hunger for more. When Venus in Leo 2018 begins on June 13, you won't need to worry about crossing it. In fact, there's no better time to revel in your own lovable glory. Because Venus rules over the way we give and receive affection, the transitions it makes through each zodiac sign changes the temperature of our love lives. When Venus enters Leo, your world is flushed by a glamorous heat. This audacious fire sign will never say no to more roses, to more jewelry, to more anything. While other zodiac signs might prefer a softer and more subdued exchange of desire, Leo wants romance to resemble an effervescent Broadway show where each declaration of love is followed by a song and a glittering dance number. If you've been craving some excitement in your love life, you have no idea just how many thrills you're in for. While people always say that you deserve someone who treats you like a queen, it's difficult to find someone who actually will. Holding your affections back until you find someone who is truly worthy of them is always easier said than done. Doubt can sink into your heart, pushing you to take a chance on a disappointing lover in the hopes that eventually, they'll change. This often leads to us settling for unfulfilling partnerships where we're constantly questioning if the love is truly there. However, when Venus is in Leo, you won't stand for half-baked forms of romance; not even for one moment. If your lover is not willing to shower you with undying love and commit to the relationship with uncompromising loyalty, you will promptly show them the door. Sure, this could potentially make you a demanding lover for a while.” Words via Roya Backlund
