  • Real talk, I’m so ready for Fall. 🍂🌰🌲 And trust me, I know. It’s only JULY. 🙃 Something about summer always leaves me feeling tired and... sweaty though. I’m ready for crisper weather, reasons to put on jeans and a oversized sweater or flannel, warm cider, and you know, all the best Fall fragrances lit throughout the house! It’s when I feel most inspired and ready to take on anything! I guess running a candle business suits me well since we’re both feeling our best during #pumpkinseason! 😜 Who’s with me? And if you’re not #teampumpkin, tell me what your favorite season is and why it brings the best out of you! 🌸☀️🍁⛄️ — 📷 by @karrie_locher

  • My challenge for today is to write about “why I started my business” ——————— Before I even knew about the business side of Young Living, I was a student working on getting my license to be a massage therapist. Working part time jobs I had no interest in that I just did for the money so I could pay my bills (and still struggled miserably) . . . . I started to see people in my oily groups who got to be home 24/7 with their kids, husbands and wives all while doing this business thing from home or anywhere (all you need is a cellphone 📱) how could all this be possible by just getting someone started with a oily kit? . . . . I started to learn how this business would create residual income (financial freedom 🙌🏽) if I put in the work, make connections, educate, inspire (hopefully 🤞🏽) and share MY journey with others. . . . . I saw how this business was getting people out of debt (multiple times), paying off cars, buying houses, retiring husbands from working 40+ hours a week, taking trips to Hawaii, helping family’s adopt just all the things you can imagine. . . . . I started my business with the idea of getting out of debt (student loans, credit card ect.) adding extra income that would help lift the burden off of Chance, I want to show everyone that these little bottles of plant juice are miracles and have the power to change your wellness (inside and out) . . . . I’m building my business because I want to see my husband not worry, I want to pay off his debt, get him out of the military so he can focus on his dreams and goals (we want to own our own gym) . . . . I’m building my business one day at a time and putting my faith in Him #daughterofagoodfather #buildingmydream

  • My studio muse. Or should I say, muses, #frida and #barbie……..it’s a #fridakahlo #barbiedoll !!! I was 4 when the very first Barbie appeared, and I was so excited to get one for my birthday. Up until then, all dolls were baby dolls. Girls in the 50’s were expected to be moms, and not much else, no careers. Luckily my parents didn’t subscribe to that norm. I was already bored with baby dolls. To me & my friends, Barbie represented possibility. We didn’t want to look like her, we wanted to BE like her. We wanted to drive around in convertible sports cars & wear fancy ball gowns to fantasy events, accompanied by our cute boyfriends. We wanted to live in modern houses & entertain lots of friends & be active out in the world. We wanted to do everything boys did. Barbie represented that empowerment to us. She remained important to me & my cohorts all through elementary school. We loved it as her doll squad & life choices grew. From current perspective, that might sound naive. Too much has been made of the damaging “image” of the barbie doll, assuming girls develop body dysmorphia from wanting to look like her. I would argue that confident self-loving girls don’t want to look like a doll, that there is something much deeper than a doll making you feel bad about yourself. Re Frida: as an undergraduate in the prestigious art history department of UC Berkeley in the 70’s, ALL women artists were marginalized footnotes. Frida was a kook who sucked the energy from her illustrious husband Diego Rivera. Georgia O’Keefe was an oddity. Mary Cassatt and Artemisia Gentileschi were anomalies. Louise Nevelson was not given her due. And artist women of color? They didn’t exist in the historic canon. There were whispers of women Renaissance painters, modern sculptors and more who actually created the works their male partners were credited for. I’m SO GLAD I’ve lived long enough to see that horrible tide changing, as slowly as it is. I believe it’s up to all of us to revive interest in these courageous women, and to mourn all those who were frozen out, maligned & disempowered of their creative genius merely because of their gender. What a g**d*mn waste.

  • I have always been a big believer in vintage. Before I started my vintage shop, I designed this house for @drjackie821. Happily, this original art from my shop looks right at home here. If you're looking to vacation at the crystal coast, this is the place to be! I may be a little partial, but this place is amazing! . Check out my etsy shop! Link in bio.

  • Does anyone else compulsively fill their Etsy cart with more vintage rugs than they can possibly afford? Just me? I call it cartin’ (full disclosure: i stole that term from @dopequeenpheebs ) So when i saw that #myhousethismonth calls for a #floorit post today, I knew it had to be a rug shot. I shared this desk, styled a little differently, last week, but I think I like this arrangement even better. The mix of modern lucite with vintage textile hits that eclectic sweet spot for me. I love seeing interiors that blend old and new elements to create that collected feel. Your turn: Share your best old/new combo with me! 😘

  • TK Maxx and Homesense fans? Unfortunately we don't have Homesense in Northern Ireland, but took a trip to the Dublin store recently. Worth the miles?⠀ I'd say yes. The store was rammed with interiors goodies, often quirky, colourful and a bit different. Which is why I came home with this sensible grey fringed throw, plus a bust of the head of a Renaissance (ish) man, who is now custodian of my jewellery. Will post a pic soon, as he's suffering an identity crisis and I need some help with a line-up!. Can't work out if he's Shakepeare, King Charles the First or Russell Brand.⠀ One shopping buddy came home with a foldable, metal garden bench.⠀ Needless to say, no-one knew what they were looking for when we arrived. Except I knew I didn't need any more throws 😉 ⠀ If you fancy the pilgrimage, the store is easy to find - just off the M50 in Blanchardstown. We lunched nearby @chopped.ie which was a bit of a revelation - delicious freshly chopped salads. Recommended road trip for the dedicated interiors addict.⠀ ⠀ #roomyhomegoals #interiorswithoutwalls

  • Ok guys, I need your help! I still have an unfinished kitchen which may be a good thing because I am still debating what I actually want to do in here! ✨ If you caught my stories, I am thinking two-toned cabinets and now I am considering changing the walls to white! My kitchen doesn’t get a ton of natural light so I’m thinking the lighter walls might brighten things up! I’d love to hear what you think!

  • Our pillows take 2-3 weeks to make. Here’s 3 good reasons they’re so worth the wait. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 • They’re made by a workroom, NOT in a factory. Workrooms are often used by interior designers, and make pillows with a more refined technique. Factories are... well... factories 😐. • We are maniacs about seam match. Yes, even on the zipper side (see above!) Unmatched seams make us feel weird and stressed out. • Every single one of our pillow prints is engineered. So, they’re printed one at a time, not lopped off a yard. This means every size, every style, in every pillow has *perfect* pattern placement. • So, those are the big three (trust us, there are more!) We believe purchase decisions for the home are just plain *different* than others. You see your home every day, and *literally* live with the choices you make for it. So, shouldnt those choices feel right each time you see them? Even good? Reeeeallly good? We certainly think so! ❤️ • #homewithrue #traditionalhome #luxemagazine #bohemianhomedecor #luxuryhomedecor #nycinteriors #textiledesign #howihome #homedetails #detailsmakethedesign #elledecor #susanconnorny #theeverygirlathome

  • "There can be nothing more frequent than an occasional drink" - Oscar Wilde. What a dude. Are you going to enjoy a cocktail tonight? I highly recommend a Cynar spritz, it's like Aperol but a bit more herbal. Today I've been dreaming of holidaying for the whole of August in a warm, sweetly scented Mediterranean country. The guys over in Europe have the right idea - take August off! I've also been reminiscing about that amazing Italian street party I went to that @jacksonandlevine and @habitatuk put on a few months ago (remember that?), I really felt like I was in Puglia that evening. The whole collection sold out in three hours but Habitat have told me it will be back in stock in September. I get so many compliments on my lady face plate so I thought I'd spread the good news. I haven't been paid to say this, I just wanted to let you know that the collection will be back as I absolutely love it. Photo from @habitatuk
